Arie Genger is a seasoned businessman and entrepreneur making his home in from Florida, US.

Beginnings and Educational Background

Genger was born in 1945 in Tel Aviv, Israel. After serving in the Israeli army, he moved to New York where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from The Bernard M. Baruch College of The City University of New York. In 1970, he graduated with honors and was the recipient of the Morton Wollman Medal for academic excellence. Immediately upon completing his BA, Genger began studying for his Masters in Business Administration at The City University of New York. He graduated two years later in 1972.

Professional Growth and Notable Achievements

Upon completing his academic pursuits, Genger began working at the Rapid-American Corporation as the assistant to the Chairman of the Board. Rapid-American Corp. was a holding company for McCrory Corp. among others. When Genger joined the multi-billion dollar conglomerate it was facing financial challenges. Genger was actively involved in the company’s re-organization and as a result of his successful contribution to the re-organization of the company he was promoted to the Presidency of McCrory Corporation, the largest of Rapid-American’s subsidiaries. At the time, his new post made him the youngest ever president of a multi-billion dollar company in the United States. Arie Genger worked at McCrory Corp from 1973 to 1980. During his time at the company he was able to transform the company’s from losses of $75 million into profits of $35 million.

Following his success in McCrory Corp. Arie Genger joined the government of Israel and moved back to Israel, and from 1980 to 1982 worked for the Israeli government in senior positions within the defense and economic ministry. Arie Genger continued to serve as a personal advisor to the then Minister of Defense Ariel Sharon, and was asked by Prime Minister Sharon to serve as his special emissary to the White House.

Founder of FAIT & TRI

In 1983, Genger founded the First American Israeli Technology fund (FAIT). FAIT was in fact a new type of organization at the time, since it was a pioneering fund with a targeted objective to bring financial investors from America to invest in Israel. Today, financial investments in Israel are quite common; however at the time most funds raised on Israel’s behalf were philanthropically motivated. FAIT was one of the first funds to formally bring financial investments to Israel’s business sector.

TRI (Trans-Resources Incorporated) was Genger’s next initiative. TRI, which was founded in 1985, serves the agricultural and chemical industry. It operates today with three main operating companies including: Haifa Chemicals LTD., Na-Churs Alpine Solutions, and Plant Products Co. LTD. Arie Genger built the company from the ground up from 1985 to 2008 and was the Chairman of the Board until 2008 when the company reached its record results. In 1998 he was awarded the Jubilee Award by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his outstanding contributions to the state of Israel. The prestigious awards, which were extended in honor of Israel's fifty years of independence, were divided between different categories of businesses including chemicals, construction, diamonds, pharmaceuticals, aeronautics, textiles and high tech.

In a recent move, Arie Genger founded a new company, AGDB Holdings LLC. Together with RDA Ventures as an investor, AGDB Holdings has taken on the task of buying companies (small to medium size) while focusing on acquisitions of basic industries. AGDB Holdings has a particular interest in the fertilizer, chemicals and agriculture industry.

Recent Litigations

Recently, TRI is in the news relating to litigations in Delaware and NY between Arie Genger and Jules and Eddie Trump and their related entities regarding the control of TRI. The litigations encompass a wide range of issues including contempt of court. The contempt charge relates to the deletion of the unallocated space that may have contained fragments of Israeli national security documents. The decision on the contempt issue opened a debate on the issue of preservation of unallocated space as part of “preservation of books and record” The court decision prompted a debate on the practical implication of the decision and its cost effect on future preservation efforts.
